This workshop focuses on connection, listening & responding, and each improviser's personal sense of play.

Navaris Darson began his love affair with improv over 20 years ago, and credits his solid improv foundation to two stellar college improv troupes: Easy Baked Improv (Berry College) and To Be Named Later (Valdosta State University).

Upon moving to Los Angeles, he continued his improv education at the world-renowned Groundlings Theatre and School, which has inspired and produced five-decades worth of astounding comedic talent – including SNL cast members, sitcom actors, and film stars.

In 2013, after performing for a year in the Groundlings Sunday Company, he became an improv instructor at The Groundlings School where he continues to teach virtually since moving to Phoenix in 2022.

In fall of 2024, he will begin teaching improv classes at Verve Studios in Scottsdale, and he’ll be attending the ITS Comedy Festival in Sydney, Australia as a teacher and performer.

SAVI FEST is sponsored by: Second Beat Improv Theater and Improv Utopia.
